It’s a pleasure to witness your happy
but not as much as it is to observe your fulfilled
within the most mundane of moments,
within the act of being you,
when you’re almost alone,
amongst the absence of those
who think they know you,
they for whom you put up enthralling illusions,
versions of yourself so subtly coated in sarcasm
that only I recognise the punch lines.
